Ok so i wanna take lead electric guitar lessons… my dad told me that electric and acoustic guitar are the same when it comes to taking lessons. Is That true?
Jason,
Most people play electric and acoustic pretty differently (generally lots of strumming on acoustic, more chunking and playing single notes on electric).
If you really want to play lead guitar, then do NOT take acoustic guitar lessons. The guys teaching acoustic will show you some awesome stuff and a good teacher will teach you well, but you will NOT learn lead like you want to.
Good luck finding the right lessons to teach you lead.

I have an acoustic guitar, and I’ve always wanted to learn how to play it, but I can’t afford lessons
!! So I was wondering if there was a website that had a good instructor, that could teach me how to play the acoustic guitar without signing up, or having to give out my e-mail address (no membership…).
Thank you in advance
~George:)
i’ve seen some free online lessons but they’re mostly very weak and incomplete. my best suggestion would be to get a decent book (it costs less than an hour of lesson) or try to teach yourself if you have some musical background. but it would be probably good to ask someone you know to teach you the very important basic (posture, etc)

My friend told me she got a bass lesson for $15 a month! That sounds like a pretty good price considering that she knows how to play fret-less now too. I wanted to know if I could get any good electric guitar lessons around New York/Queens. Good, thorough lesson.Thanks.
That is a good price but is the teacher giving you quality time ? Anybody can charge a cheap rate and take longer to show you the same time a good teacher would teach in less time.
Ask your friend if they teach guitar for that price. Their are tons of places in New York.
Here is a list that you can check for yourself and take the closest one to you.

I just got a guitar yesterday and i don’t know how to play guitar yet. so this website would have to teach their lessons from scratch. I’m brand new at learning to play guitar. And my guitar is the Acoustic Epiphone PR-150.
Call me prejudiced, as I’m a long time subscriber to Guitar Player magazine, but there’s nothing better out there. Plus, they have some of the best instructors in the world.
Guitar player TV is an invaluable tool.
Click on the link, then on the left, you’ll see something called channels…look for guitar lessons…click on that, and then you’ll see newbie, or beginner lessons…there’s a wealth of beginner acoustic guitar lessons that will get you off on the right foot…enjoy!
And practice till those fingers bleed! http://www.guitarplayertv.com/
