Is it better to to learn to play acoustic guitar by lessons or self taught?
i’ve been wanting to play guitar, for a while now & i don’t know if i wanna take lessons or if i should just learn on my own. I was thinking about just going to guitar lessons for the basics, and just learn from there. but iam still not sure.
To be honest. I can not think of anything that is best self taught.
I know that many people teach or claim to do without lessons.
All that I have talked to: Tell me they did get help from a friend or would go to other players and ask for help or suggestions.
I decided I could do it with just a book. After all I could already read music and play another instrument.
I got so frustrated after 6 months that I quit. My grandson saw my guitar one day and picked it up and started playing. I ask how he learned?
He had take classes at the community college.
I tried to play something for him, and he immediately pointed out some mistakes that I was making, and after 30 minutes I decided I wanted to play again. He helped me about once a week until the community college started classes again.
We now really enjoy playing alone or together.
I told my story to the 8 in my guitar class. Every one of them had tried on their own, and found out they needed help.

Do you know of any easy guitar songs?
I started guitar a few months ago and all I’ve been doing is scales and chords and it’s getting boring. I wondered if there was any songs I could learn using the main caged system. Preferably quite modern ones because I’m afraid my music knowledge doesn’t go that far back.
Please recommend easy songs !! ![]()
(Finger picking- easy) Hey There Delilah- Plain White T’s

I need links for affordable acoustic-electric guitar lessons in Houston, Texas?
Near the galleria area.
Take a look on Craigslist, or you can check out backpage as well. Often times the local paper in the classified section is good as well, or go to a local school and see if the teachers give lessons on the side.
What is a good free acoustic guitar lesson online website?
I already looked up some some website but none of them are in enough detail for me…. they’re not in my understanding. So I’m trying to find free lessons that can teach me what else I need to know. I already have a few books, so I know how to play a few chords…. I also need to learn tabs. I don’t quite understand those. So please, if anyone has a website they know about or have used, please let me know. Or if you have some words of wisdom for me, I could use anything. Thank You!

Easy guitar songs for a beginner?
I just started playing guitar and I want to learn to play an easy song- like one with 2 or 3 simple chords and not too hard of a strumming or picking pattern. I can’t find too many though. Can you reccomend any songs? I’d rather it be by an actual band- so no songs like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star or anything please.
Thank you!
try take it easy by the eagles. its a very easy song. the intro is just a g chord with and easy strumming pattern. just youtube it to get the strumming pattern and maybe get a tab for it.
